Hello! I hope you all have had a great Christmas!
God sure blessed us with a great Christmas. It was actually a white Christmas! It was wonderful. I'll have to post the photos on facebook sometime soon. I'll be putting together a video of everything that happened this season, though.
This year I got a new coat and external hard drive. I can finally take more photos without worrying about losing room on the computer! Miranda gave me a new jewelry box full of jewelry! It's so cute! Ben got us girls Despicable Me, which was such a cute movie. :) Moriah got us two new PS2 controllers and got me a sign with my name on it. My parents got me some new ear buds so that I can listen to Chopin without disrupting someone watching TV. Yay! We also got Toy Story 3, Inception, A Christmas Carol, and brand new shoes! Wow! What a great Christmas!
My sister and brother-in-law should be getting here early tomorrow morning. I'm so excited to see them! I haven't seen them since Thanksgiving. We're going to spend the whole time celebrating.

Youth Sleepover
I've had a blast this weekend! The high schoolers in our youth group had a sleepover at the Stultz's house. No worries, we slept in completely different houses! We did some pretty disgusting things. xD
To start the night off, we had spaghetti and garlic bread. Yum! After supper, the girls had to pull the boys apart from a death grip. I think we did it in 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Those boys are so strong! After that test of strength, we had the choice to have a spitting contest... with crickets! Michelle won. That cricket flew across the kitchen! We also played a few games of endurance, speed, aim, dramatic and artistic skill.
I had the wonderful opportunity to make a bubblegum sculpture out of all of the girls' gum. Ewwww! I pushed the thought that my hands were covered in spit into the back of my head and made a bunny. The boys made Jabba the Hutt. I have no clue who won.
Finally, we played several rounds of Mafia with the addition of Mrs. Nesbitt as the medic. It was very fun and very challenging. I was part of the Mafia twice, the Sheriff once, and a townsperson twice. I think I have become much better at this game.
I still don't understand why people kept killing me. It's pretty entertaining, though. To clarify, this was all to describe a game. Nobody was actually hurt in the making of this blog entry.
Last night, after the boys had gone to a separate house, the girls turned on a chick flick, waxed our hands and feet, and fell asleep nice and calmly. I enjoyed it so much. We got to bond as a youth group more.
In the morning, we played some more interesting games and quite a few rounds of Mafia again. In all, it was a wonderful weekend! Thank you Jamie and Elizabeth!

Christmas Events
When such a great day of celebration starts approaching, many days of celebration take place in preparation for that great day. Here, I shall tell you about a few of the celebrations that have already taken place.
On December 5th, I had the opportunity to dress up as one of my childhood heroes: Tigger! This was for the Mill Christmas Party. It was so much fun! Children loved me so much. One child thought that I was truly Tigger and was convinced that I was his best friend. He pulled me around the whole building and was constantly asking me, "Do you need a nap?" "Are you hot?" "Are you thirsty?" "Are you tired?". Of course, I couldn't speak to him. I'm a girl! So I had to just follow him around until Aunt Dolly had the chance to save me from his control. She said that he picked my nose, because I had a fluff in it. How sweet! Haha!
Today I had the opportunity to perform at Scarborough Terrace with my homeschooling group. I played Jingle Bell Jam and recited Philippians 4:8.
"Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things."
There was this cute old man that sang along with every song we sang. Joy was overflowing from him. It was such a blessing to see what a reaction we got from so many people. I'm glad to be a part of it.
I actually remember going to the same assisted living home back when we lived here 10 years ago. I have so many memories of performances. Wow, it's great to be back.

Christmas is Coming!
Today I've experienced the excitement for the days to come! I was babysitting some kids at a local church during a Bible study, and one of the babies gave me a gift card to Dunkin' Donuts. What a blessing!
After babysitting, I got to go see some behind the scenes of The Nutcracker. It was gorgeous! Almost everything was shiny.
This evening I helped decorate the church for Christmas. I discovered some shiny beads and was determined to put them on the tree. We spent all evening untangling them, but it was worth it! The tree is absolutely gorgeous. I'm so excited to celebrate Jesus' birth!
I've been planning Christmas presents like crazy. I really hope people are pleased with what I give. :)

Salutations!
In every good, mediocre, or unknown blog there absolutely must be an opening blog post. I am Alycia Turpin. At this current time in my life I am still in high school, yet I forget it quite often.
Quite recently I have moved from the mountains of Tennessee to the, um, how do I put it? Coldness of Maine. Thankfully, we have experienced quite mild weather recently. I personally expect it to snow this coming week. How wonderful that would be!
I live in a Christian home, found reasons outside of home to keep my relationship with God extremely close, and to this day seek his face. God has placed many wonderful people in my life to encourage me, push me back in the right direction when I'm astray, and give counsel to myself.
Among these wonderful people are my parents. They are full time ministers and full time parents. They have five kids and a son-in-law, my brother-in-law. We're an odd group, but we're definitely closely knit together. I love my family!
I'm a home schooler, so I have plenty of time to expand my gifts and talents. These range between piano, flute, drawing, sketching, photography, and painting. I'm considering learning Spanish, French, Kiswahili, and Japanese. Entiendo el español un poco. I just need to study and practice more.
There are so many wonders to explore out there, so instead of sitting at my computer talking about me, I shall go explore them. God bless you!
